RIPLEY
- The Township of Huron-Kinloss today celebrated the completion of improvements to Point Clark Road and the Point Clark & Huron District Community Centre, as well as the start of upgrades to Huron Road.

Ben Lobb, MP for Huron-Bruce; Carol Mitchell, MPP for Huron-Bruce; and Mitch Twolan, Mayor of the Township of Huron-Kinloss, were pleased to recognize these important infrastructure projects in the community.

“Our government is proud of the commitment made in Canada’s Economic Action Plan to create jobs and stimulate local economies by investing in essential municipal infrastructure” said MP Lobb. “Our support for these three projects will help make sure that the residents of Huron-Kinloss continue to have clean water, safe roads and good recreation facilities.”

"We're creating jobs for families and making our communities stronger by investing in infrastructure in Huron-Kinloss," said MPP Mitchell. “This is another example of how the McGuinty government is keeping Ontario moving with targeted investments that matter to people in their everyday lives.”

“We are grateful to our federal and provincial partners for ensuring these projects come to life,” said Mayor Twolan. “I know the residents and visitors of this community will benefit greatly as a result of this funding.”

The Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario and the Township of Huron-Kinloss each contributed equal shares to the three projects, which combined have total eligible costs of up to $3,989,544.

During these challenging economic times, the governments of Canada and Ontario have taken steps to get shovels in the ground and funding into targeted infrastructure projects.

These projects are among more than 2,400 moving forward throughout Ontario thanks to a total joint federal and provincial investment of more than $3.3 billion in infrastructure stimulus funding.
