Last chance to take advantage of the Home Renovation Tax Credit
January 07, 2010
![]() Goderich, Ontario - Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb is encouraging constituents to take advantage of the federal governments’ Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC) before January 31. “The Home Renovation Tax Credit has encouraged Canadians to invest in their homes by renovating and increasing their home values,” said MP Lobb. “At the same time, it has stimulated local economies by hiring contractors to perform the work and kept building supply stores busy across Canada.” The HRTC was introduced last spring in Canada’s Economic Action Plan. Individual homeowners are eligible for a 15% tax credit on their 2009 income tax return for eligible home improvement expenses on goods or work performed after January 27, 2009 and before February 1, 2010. For a list of eligible expenses or if constituents have questions about the HRTC they are encouraged to visit: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/hrtc/ or call one of Mr. Lobb’s constituency offices toll free at: 1-877-524-6560 in Goderich and 1-877-427-9399 in Port Elgin. |
