GODERICH, ONT — Ben Lobb, Member of Parliament for Huron-Bruce, recently highlighted federal support for Town and Country Support Services in Huron County. MP Lobb made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development.
MP Lobb announced $25,000 for Town and Country Support Services. This funding will allow the Active Seniors for Life program to assist seniors to participate in a variety of new activities, such as aqua fitness, yoga, dances, interactive games and Mah Jongg to enhance socialization.
“Seniors are valuable members of society who contribute a diversity of skills, knowledge and experience to their communities,” said MP Lobb. “Through the Community Participation and Leadership component of the New Horizons for Seniors Program, the Government of Canada is supporting local projects that enable seniors to contribute to their communities through social participation and active living.”
This investment falls under the Community Participation and Leadership component of the New Horizons for Seniors Program, which encourages seniors to continue to play an important role in their communities by helping those in need, providing leadership, and sharing their knowledge and skills with others.
Town and Country Support Services is a community-based, not-for-profit agency providing services to individuals and families in Huron and Perth Counties. TCSS provides home and community support services that strengthen the health and quality of life for individuals living in our communities.
