PORT ELGIN, Ontario, March 19, 2009 – This week both the Port Elgin and Lucknow Legion’s were busy as MP Ben Lobb held his 2nd round of passport clinics in Huron-Bruce. The clinics attracted close to 300 local residents. Ben, staff members and volunteers were on hand to help people complete the passport applications.
“We are trying to bring Government services to the constituents,” said Lobb. “Rather than travel to Kitchener or London to get passports we are able to bring these services to their doorstep.”
As of June 1st, 2009 all Canadians entering the United States will be required to have a passport. Passport Applications submitted at the clinic will be processed in approximately 3 weeks.
If constituents were unable to attend the clinics they are encouraged to visit one of Ben’s constituency offices on another day for passport assistance.
