Ben receives a warm welcome from the Town and Country Support Services at the Betty Cardno Centre in Clinton last Wednesday
Port Elgin, Ontario, March 23, 2009 - Last week local MP Ben Lobb was back from Ottawa for a break from the House of Commons. The first term MP kept busy by making stops in almost every part of the riding.
Ben met with close to 20 local businesses, groups and constituents as well as holding two more passport clinics, one in Port Elgin and one in Lucknow.
Both clinics attracted close to 150 people from the local area. Ben will be holding more clinics throughout the riding in April.
Ben also made a number of announcements on behalf of Minister Diane Finley through the New Horizons for Seniors Program. Ben presented cheques to the Town and Country Support Services in Clinton, the Municipality of Morris−Turnberry, the Kincardine Area Seniors Advisory/Action Committee and the Rueben R. Sallows Arts Gallery in Goderich. In addition, Ben also delivered a cheque for $300,000 to the Huron Business Development Corporation on behalf of Industry Minister Tony Clement.
Ben also took time out of his busy schedule to attend the St. Paddy’s Day Supper at the Goderich Legion, the annual awards for the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority on Thursday night and the Kincardine Community Achievement Awards Night on Saturday night.
On Sunday Ben attended the Blyth Legion for breakfast and spent the rest of the day at the Royal Canadian Legion Zone C-1 Spring Convention and Dinner in Exeter.
