GODERICH, ON – It was a night of hockey, filled with stars of the past, present and future. Hometown Heroes “Raise a Little Health” Charity hockey game had another successful year and was able to raise over $40,000 at Thursday’s event, bringing the three year total over $130,000. The funds from the event will be divided between The Goderich-Huron YMCA’s Strong Kids Program, Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health and Alexandra Marine and General Hospital.

Players who laced up for the game included former Detroit Red Wings Forward and Stanley Cup Champion, Boyd Devereaux; former NHLer Dave McLlwain, current Buffalo Sabers Forward Ryan O’Reilly; and his brother Cal O’Reilly, who is also with the Buffalo Sabers.

Gwen Devereaux, from the AMGH explains, "It was an amazing success. A huge thank you to the community for the support for our charities, to Ben and Brian for believing we could do this and for your hard work. Thank you also to COPA for providing your great burgers! You are our Hometown Heroes.”

Member of Parliament for Huron Bruce, Ben Lobb says, “It was another A+ event! A heartfelt thanks to all of those who volunteered and to the community who came out and supported. The line-up was filled with a lot of current and ex-nhlers and those striving for it.”
