Hometown Heroes Adds New Players to the Roster

GODERICH, ON – With only days to go before the 4th Annual Hometown Heroes “Raise a Little Health” charity hockey game, Ben Lobb, Member of Parliament for Huron Bruce is happy to announce new additions to the Hometown Heroes Roster.
Leading Team Devereaux, is Stanley Cup Champion and defending Hometown Heroes champion, Boyd Devereaux. Joining him is:

  • Kevin Czuzcman – Last season held the blue line for the Manitoba Moose, recently signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins
  • Mike Halmo – Previously has played for the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay LightningAlex Peters – Currently playing for St.Mary’s University after a successful junior career with the Flint Firebirds, he hails from Blyth, ON
  • Ray Huether – Centre for Western University, from Londesborough, ON
  • Kenny Huether - Memorial Cup Champion and right wing for the Oshawa Generals from Londesborough, ON
  • Joey Hishon – Currently playing in the Swedish Elite League
  • Dr. Mark Duckworth – Representing the Goderich Doctors
  • Justine Hart – Current AMGH operating room nurse

Ryan O’Reilly, alternate captain for the Buffalo Sabres and World Champion will captain Team O’Reilly. Joining him is:

  • Bill Bowler – Current VP of Hockey Operations for the Windsor Spitfires and is an OHL All Time Point Leader
  • Anthony Peters – Current net-minder for the Florida Everglades, from Blyth, ON
  • Garrett Meurs – Drafted by the Colorado Avalanche and currently plays for the Norfolk Admirals, from Wingham, ON
  • Devin Didiomete - Current left wing for the Fassa Falcons FC in the European League
  • Brad Aitken – Retired Edmonton Oiler hailing from Clinton, ON
  • Dr. Dan Noel – Representing the Goderich Doctors
  • Dr. Mark Duckworth – Representing the Goderich Doctors

The Hometown Heroes “Raise a Little Health” charity hockey game will be taking place on Thursday, July 20th in Goderich at the Maitland Recreation Centre. The goal is to raise $50,000 for three local organizations; the Goderich-Huron YMCA’s Strong Kids; Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health; and Alexandra Marine & General Hospital.

Tickets for the Hometown Heroes charity hockey game can be purchased at Ben Lobb’s constituency offices in Goderich . Tickets are also available at the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health in Seaforth, the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital Gift Shop, the Goderich-Huron YMCA and online at www.eventbrite.ca.
