The Canada Summer Jobs program Application period has been extended
Prospective employers now have until February 3, 2019 to submit funding applications for this year’s Canada Summer Jobs Program.
Summer jobs are a great way for young people to gain skills and experience before entering the labour market full time. Private employers with up to 50 employees, public-sector employers, and not-for-profits can apply for funding through the Government of Canada to hire summer employees. All available positions will be posted on jobbank.gc.ca and the Jobbank app.
Not-for-profit employers are eligible to receive 100% of the minimum hourly wage for a summer employee, while public-sector and private-for-profit employers are eligible to receive 50% of the minimum wage.
Applications by employers are now being accepted until January 25, 2019. Applicants can open an account on the Government Grants and Contributions Online Service Portal, allowing them to track their application’s progress, and get faster feedback.
