FedDev Ontario supporting southern Ontario economic recovery

Huron-Park, Ontario — Ben Lobb, MP for Huron-Bruce, today announced that EXI-PLAST Custom Moulding Ltd. will receive an investment of more than $46,650 to purchase a second Robotic Trim Cell through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

“Our government is committed to creating jobs and getting the economy back on track.  By partnering with local businesses, this investment will encourage economic growth and allow the communities to recover from the economic recession.” said MP Ben Lobb.

“This loan will help shore up our cash flow. Over the last two years we have spent a lot of money on new technology in Robotics and machine upgrades to insure that we continue to be competitive, against outside pressures and to provide competitive pricing to our customers as well as attract new customers, here at home, nationally and globally.” said Frank Zawalsky, Owner of EXI-PLAST.

The proposed project is for the purchase and installation of a robotic, trim cell and fixtures. The Robotic trim cell will enable EXI-PLAST to increase production rates. It will also open the door to new customer products that could not be produced by manual trimming.

This project will be funded through the Community Adjustment Fund, a two-year, $1-billion national program aimed at addressing the short-term economic needs of communities hit hardest by the global economic recession. The approved project must meet the terms and conditions set out in the contribution agreement.
