Dear Constituent,
As our economy becomes affected by the global economic slowdown, we look to the government to provide leadership in navigating through these tough times. Our economic policies over the past two and a half years have left our economy fundamentally strong and have put Canada in a much better position than other G7 countries. The government is tabling a Budget on January 27th and we have made it clear that we plan on taking quick action on the economy. Our government is working hard to prepare stimulus measures as fast as possible. These measures are important to get our economy back on track.
In conjunction with business and industry consultation, I would like your input on what measures you would like to see in Budget 2009. This information will allow me to voice the concerns and comments of my constituents and take action on the issues that matter to you. Please email your comments to LobbB@parl.gc.ca.
On December 12th, the Department of Finance launched online consultations for all Canadians. If you wish to comment, please visit the Department of Finance website at http://www.fin.gc.ca/ and follow the links to Budget 2009 Consultations.
Going forward, we will ensure that our economic measures are substantial, smart, and effective. By doing so, we will deliver real benefits to Canadians and the economy while not putting Canada into a long-term structural deficit. It is only with your help and support that I can represent you and the issues that matter to Huron-Bruce.
Sincerely,

Ben Lobb, M.P.
