MP Ben Lobb named Chair of Government Auto Caucus
February 17, 2011

GODERICH, ONT — Earlier this week, Ben Lobb, MP for Huron-Bruce was named chair of the Government Auto Caucus.  Lobb took over the position from Lois Brown, MP for Newmarket-Aurora who was recently appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Cooperation.

The caucus committee is responsible for meeting with representatives of the Canadian auto industry and bringing forward recommendations to the Minister of Industry. The caucus consists of 35 Members of Parliament and Senators from the government.

“The auto industry is important to the economy in South Western Ontario”, said Lobb.   “Our government has worked with the auto sector to restructure and renew the automotive industry in Canada to retain and create jobs.”

Chair of Auto Caucus is a good fit for Lobb, who worked at Wescast Industries for 7 years prior to being elected MP for Huron-Bruce.  Wescast Industries, located in Wingham, is world’s leading supplier of cast exhaust manifolds for passenger cars and light trucks.
