GODERICH – Ben Lobb, MP for Huron-Bruce, today announced funding for the Port Albert 175th Anniversary Celebrations, "Rev’n in 11", in Port Albert, Ontario.
“Our Government is proud to support the Port Albert 175th Anniversary Celebrations, “said MP Lobb. “Over the years there have been many memories and milestones for the local residents. This will provide an opportunity for the community to celebrate the history in Port Albert.”

With this funding we will be able to make this another memorable event with a variety of activities that are geared for participants of different ages and interests.” Ken Logtenberg, Head of Fundraising.
The Port Albert and District Recreational Society will receive $19,500.00 in funding to help present the Port Albert 175th Anniversary Celebrations, which will take place from July 29 to August 1, 2011. Activities include musical performances and displays by local artists, and exhibits of local history. The project includes a capital component consisting of a commemorative book of the history of Port Albert over the past 175 years.
The Government of Canada created the Building Communities through Arts and Heritage program in September 2007. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in local activities that present arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage. This program will benefit many community events and celebrations throughout Canada this year.
