Community participation and leadership component

GODERICH, ONTARIO—Ben Lobb, M.P for Huron-Bruce is reminding all eligible organizations that the application deadline for the New Horizons for Seniors Program - community participation and leadership component is fast approaching.

The deadline for applications is April 16, 2010. This program encourages seniors to contribute to their communities through volunteerism, mentorship and civic leadership.

Since its beginning, the New Horizons for Seniors Program has funded over 5,000 projects in hundreds of communities across Canada. With the other components of the New Horizons for Seniors Program—Capital Assistance and Elder Abuse Awareness—the overall budget of the Program is $35 million per year.
